Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3 is the third installment to the Japanese only fighting series, Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen, which is based off of the popular anime and manga series Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. You can select between different game modes such as Arcade mode, VS mode, Story mode, and Mission mode. You can unlock new features such as new characters, stages, and modes by accomplishing certian tasks in the game. Once accomplished, an item will appear in Anko's shop that you can buy with money that you earned during fights. Gameplay Controls The controls are the same as the previous two games. You perform your main punching and kicking combos by pressing B and preform your ranged or weapon attacks by pressing A (depending on which character you use). Different kinds of attacks and combos can be made while hitting the control stick in combination with the attack buttons. You can also press Y to grab and throw other characters, and press X to preform special attacks when your chakra meter is full. You can control your character by using either the Joy Stick or the Directional Pad.

Basics
- Joy Stick = Move your character left or right (tap twice to run). Press up to jump (tap twice to double jump).
- Directional Pad = Move your character left or right (tap twice to run). Press up to jump (tap twice to double jump).
- A = Ranged attack (kunai, shuriken, needles), or weapon attacks.
- B = Main physical combos (punching and kicking).
- X = Special attack when chakra meter is full. Press X + Down to preform a "second special".
- Y = Grab and throw.
- Z = Switch opponents (only works with 3 or more fighters on the screen).
- L = Side step to the background, or Kawarimi no Jutsu when trapped in a combo (chakra meter has to be atleast 2/3 full).
- R = Side step to the foreground, or Kawarimi no Jutsu when trapped in a combo (chakra meter has to be atleast 2/3 full).
- Start = Pause game.
- C Stick = Restarts the fight (Only works in Training mode).

Playable characters
This is a list of all the playable characters in Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3. Some "clone" characters from the previous game Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2 like Sharingan Uchiha Sasuke, Kyuubi Uzumaki Naruto, and Sharingan Hatake Kakashi were fused with their "normal" characters in Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3.
