Super Eyebrows Jealous! is Born!
When Sasuke cringes in pain, Sakura begs him to bow out of the prelims.
Stubbornly, Sasuke refuses. He is to fight Akadou Yoroi in the first
match. As he walks down to meet his opponent, Kakashi warns him not to
use Sharingan. If the curse takes over him during the match, it may
kill him. Kakashi will stop the match if it comes to that. Now at a
major disadvantage, Sasuke wonders what he can do that won’t use too much chakra but still defeat his opponent.
The match starts and almost immediately, Yoroi takes the upper hand. He places his palm on Sasuke’s head to drain mind and body energy from Sasuke. Orochimaru looks on approving. If Yoroi can drain Sasuke’s current chakra, it will leave him to choice but to rely on the curse’s powers.
Sasuke won’t give in just yet, and finds enough strength to kick Yoroi away. Yoroi then rushes forward with an attack. Sasuke wearily dodges each move, knowing that Yoroi wants close combat. Meanwhile, Naruto encourages Sasuke from the sidelines. That gives Sasuke enough time to develop a plan. As Yoroi rushes once more, Sasuke dodges, disappears and reappears below. He delivers a powerful upwards kick reminiscent of a move Lee performed on him during their match. As Yoroi continues his ascent upwards, Sasuke then appears behind him and prepares Shadow Dance.
Unfortunately, Sasuke’s seal reacts to his pulsating energy and spreads itself to cover Sasuke’s face and neck. He flashes back to his teammates’ concern and feels bad that he worried both of them. He then vows to fight it, and the seal retreats. After performing several punch/kick combos, Sasuke comes down hard with his Lion Combo kick ending. Both bodies fall to the ground and land motionless. Sasuke then uses the last of his energy to pull himself up to his knees and emerge the winner.
Kakashi and Gai-sensei are impressed that Sasuke could have learned Lee’s moves just by using the sharingan. Usually renge, a series of high speed hand-to-hand combat moves cannot be done without significant training. The idea for the finishing move reminds Gai of something Kakashi would have done when he was younger. Anko is particularly amazed that Sasuke was able to control the curse’s power after it had appeared… Meanwhile, Orochimaru watches, extremely pleased, from the sidelines.
Kakashi decides its time to take Sasuke to the back to seal his curse. Sasuke is at first unwilling, but Kakashi is adamant. As the two walk out of the room, Naruto notices Sasuke holding his neck and asks Sakura if she also saw Sasuke develop bruises during the match. She remembers her promise to Sasuke not to tell Naruto and replies that she doesn’t know.
Soon the next match - Zaku Abumi vs. Aburame Shino - begins. Shino warns Zaku that if he fights now with two broken arms (from his encounter with Sasuke), he will never be able to fight again. Zaku ignores him and attacks with Air Slicer to knock Shino down.
Meanwhile, Kakashi has Sasuke sit amidst a circle of characters and draws several characters in vertical rows down Sasuke’s arms and back. He then performs a series of hand seals to prepare Fuuja Houin! (Evil Suppressor) and places his hands on Sasuke’s seal. The characters written in the circle move up Sasuke’s back to surround the cursed seal. Kakashi then warns Sasuke that the if the cursed seal tries to activate again, the power of the Evil Suppressor will hold it in. However, the sealing technique uses his will as its main source. If he loses faith in his own power, the seal will reactivate. Sasuke then collapses.
Kakashi turns around to find Orochimaru behind him, and slightly impressed that Kakashi can now perform the binding technique.
